September 2010 DTS Leaders:
Yohanan and Rachel Rempt will be leading the September, 2010 DTS at Holmsted Manor. They came to Holmsted in January, 2010 when Yohanan co-led the January DTS with base leader Aimee Haase, and Rachel did her DTS.
“We are passionate about helping people learn more about God, grow closer to Him, and discover who God has made them to be – their gifts, passions, desires, and how they can partner with Him in building His kingdom worldwide. Our hope and prayer for the DTS is to create an environment for spiritual growth and leadership training by offering a dynamic group of speakers and topics, supportive student and staff relationships, and a welcoming community for living and learning together. We are also so excited about sending outreach teams into numerous international locations. Come join us in September, 2010!”
Yohanan is from Seattle, Washington and did his DTS in Kona, Hawaii in 1998. He completed a Leadership Training School in Auckland, New Zealand in 2000, then staffed and led several DTS courses in Lausanne, Switzerland and Bosnia. He also worked with the International DTS centre in Hungary from 1999-2001. In 2004 he earned a Masters Degree in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College, where he met Rachel.
Rachel grew up in Ohio, but now considers Seattle home. She has been involved in short term mission work and leading college student and youth discipleship groups for several years. Rachel holds an MA in Intercultural Studies from Wheaton College with a special focus on working with women and spiritual formation. A new YWAMer, Rachel is thoroughly enjoying getting involved in YWAM.
Yohanan loves music, film, hiking, backpacking, biking, architecture and design, and good gear. Rachel loves writing fiction, reading, cooking, film, exploring, hiking, backpacking, and being outside. They both enjoy good food, games, travel, being with people, and having lots of adventures. They miss sushi and living by the ocean, but love the delicious scones and wonderful history in England.
